The European Parliament this week hosted the Golden Ribbon art exhibition, featuring colorful works by children undergoing treatment at the Pediatric Oncology Unit of Makarios Hospital. The initiative, led by Member of the European Parliament Loucas Fourlas in collaboration with the “Little Heroes” Foundation and the Pancyprian Association of Parents and Friends of the Pediatric Oncology Unit, aimed to spotlight the resilience of young cancer fighters.

The exhibition was dedicated to the memory of Iris Violari. Mr. Fourlas stated that the paintings, created by children, are testimonies of courage and inner strength, giving these children a voice in the heart of Europe.

Visitors saw beyond the art to recognize the bravery of the children, the steadfastness of their families, and the dedication of the medical staff. The exhibition carries a message of enduring hope and creativity.

Former European Commissioner for Health Stella Kyriakides attended the opening, praising Mr. Fourlas's initiative and noting the imagination evident in the children's artwork. She reassured parents that the fight against cancer would continue.

Eleni Anastasiou, teacher at the Pediatric Oncology Department, announced that the exhibition will also be presented in Cyprus in May.
