The Artemis II mission, set to launch on 1 April 2026, will see Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen circle the Moon aboard the Orion spacecraft. This marks NASA's first crewed trip beyond low-Earth orbit in decades.
Liftoff is scheduled for 22:24 UTC, aiming to evaluate Orion’s performance in deep space conditions. The crew will break the distance record from Earth, reaching up to 401,710 km during their lunar loop.
Future missions depend on this successful test flight, paving the way for a historic return to the lunar surface by 2028.
