Prime Minister Mark Carney will speak with Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen on Wednesday following the Artemis II mission's historic lunar flyby. Industry Minister Mélanie Joly will also participate.

On Monday, Hansen and his three American crewmates completed a six-hour lunar flyby, setting a new distance record for humans in space. This mission is a precursor to landing near the moon's south pole within two years.
Carney has highlighted that Canada's participation in Artemis II makes it the second nation to send an astronaut on a lunar mission, crediting Hansen's "exceptional skill."
The crew is scheduled to splash down off the coast of California on Friday, having gathered crucial images and geological data of the moon.
