The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has issued a high-risk Conflict Zone Information Bulletin. The directive orders EU-regulated airlines to avoid the airspace over Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE, and the western Gulf of Oman until July 29.

The warning stems from escalating military tensions between the United States and Iran. A ceasefire initiated in April was violated following Iranian missile strikes on a US military base in Jordan, triggering US retaliation and a rapid deterioration of security.

The operational impact is immediate. Airlines like Emirates, Qatar Airways, and Etihad, along with European carriers using Gulf hubs, face mandatory flight rerouting. This will lead to longer flight times and significantly increased fuel costs, directly affecting airline margins.

The two-week period of the advisory creates a defined window of elevated uncertainty for the aviation and related markets.
