Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has ordered a significant reinforcement of protection for Hungary's critical energy infrastructure. The move follows reports from national security services indicating potential Ukrainian actions aimed at disrupting the country's energy system.

Orbán stated that soldiers and equipment will be deployed to priority facilities, with enhanced police patrols around power plants, distribution stations, and control centers. A ban on drone flights has also been imposed in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county.

The deployment comes after the Druzhba pipeline, which supplies Russian oil to Hungary, was shut down due to damage, which the government attributes to Russian forces. Orbán's administration has previously characterized Ukraine's demands for pipeline repair as "political blackmail."
