Hong Kong-based Japanese restaurant chain Itacho Sushi has permanently closed all its outlets in Singapore. The closures follow the shutdown of its last Hong Kong location in December 2024.
Founded in 2004 under the Taste of Japan Group, Itacho Sushi opened its first Singapore branch in 2009. It gained early popularity for premium-quality sushi at accessible prices, with promotional pieces under S$1.
Once known for long queues during mealtimes, customer sentiment turned in recent years. Online diners cited declining menu quality and rising prices as key factors in its waning appeal.
The four Singapore outlets-located at Ion Orchard, Bugis Junction, Square 2 at Novena, and The Star Vista-are now marked as permanently closed on Google Maps.
No official announcement was made. The brand’s website, social media accounts, and mobile app have been deactivated without explanation.
