BEIRUT: Israel launched strikes on south Lebanon and Beirut suburbs on Wednesday. The attacks follow continued rocket fire by Hezbollah targeting Israeli troops.
The conflict escalated after Hezbollah avenged the killing of Iran's Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Israel has expanded its operations into southern Lebanon, aiming to control areas up to the Litani River.
Hezbollah claimed over 100 rockets hit Israeli troops near the border. Meanwhile, Israeli forces dismantled weapons storage facilities in Lebanon.
Lebanese authorities reported nine killed, including two at a refugee camp. Over one million Lebanese are now displaced. In northern Israel, a woman died following rocket attacks from Lebanon.
