An Israeli airstrike on a civilian home in Gaza has killed five people, including a child. Palestinian officials state this attack confirms the effective disintegration of the ceasefire agreement established on October 10, 2025.

Gaza authorities have documented over 2,400 ceasefire violations by Israeli forces since the truce began. More than 1,000 people have reportedly been killed in the territory during this same period, eroding faith in the diplomatic framework.

Residents describe the current situation as a ceasefire in name only, citing near-daily airstrikes, artillery fire, and ground raids. On April 23, 2026, a separate strike in Beit Lahia killed five additional people, including three children.

Since October 2023, over 50,000 children have been killed or injured across Gaza. Medical facilities now operate at minimal capacity as residential infrastructure faces systematic destruction, leaving families with few safe relocation options.
