Iran's foreign ministry stated that no agreement was expected from a single session of talks with the United States, which stalled in Islamabad on Sunday.

Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei indicated that Tehran remains confident in continued engagement with Pakistan and other regional partners. Pakistan's foreign minister, Ishaq Dar, urged both Washington and Tehran to uphold a ceasefire following the inconclusive negotiations. "It is imperative that the parties continue to uphold their commitment to ceasefire," Dar stated, emphasizing Pakistan's role as a mediator.

The United States had previously announced a two-week pause on attacks with Israel, pending these negotiations. Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong also expressed disappointment at the lack of agreement, stressing the immediate priority must be to maintain the ceasefire and resume dialogue.
