RAMALLAH, The West Bank: Israeli airstrikes killed at least four people in the Gaza Strip on Monday, March 30, local health officials reported.

An Israeli plane fired a missile near Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza City, killing three people and wounding two others. The Israeli military claimed it targeted a Hamas armed cell in northern Gaza.

Later that day, another airstrike hit a community kitchen in Nuseirat camp, killing one and injuring six. No official comment was issued.

In the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces shot and killed a 22-year-old man near Hebron, according to Palestinian health officials. Soldiers reportedly left the man unattended, and his body was taken away.

The Israeli military said it killed a Palestinian who approached with a knife and another who drove toward soldiers, posing a threat. Both incidents resulted in no injuries to Israeli forces.

Since the war began in October 2023, over 72,000 Palestinians have been killed, according to health officials. The Gaza health ministry reported at least 700 deaths since the US-brokered ceasefire took effect in late October.

Israel claims four soldiers died due to militant attacks in Gaza during the same time frame.

The ongoing conflict also includes Israeli operations against Iran-backed Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. Settlers have been accused of increasing attacks in the West Bank, with at least five Palestinians killed since February 28.
