Iran has damaged 20 US military sites across eight Middle Eastern countries since late February, according to satellite images and videos analyzed by BBC Verify. The attacks have caused millions of dollars in damage to advanced air defense systems, refueling aircraft, and radars.
Tehran targeted US bases and shared facilities in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Bahrain, and Oman-retaliation for US-Israeli strikes across Iran and Lebanon. The Pentagon reports hitting over 13,000 targets in Iran since Operation Epic Fury began.
Among the hardware damaged: three Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) batteries at bases in the UAE and Jordan. Each battery costs roughly $1 billion and requires a crew of about 100 troops.
Iranian strikes also heavily hit refueling and surveillance aircraft at Prince Sultan Airbase in Saudi Arabia, including an E-3 Sentry surveillance plane valued at up to $700 million.

In Kuwait, attacks at Ali Al Salem Airbase and Camp Arifjan destroyed fuel storage bunkers, aircraft hangars, troop accommodation, and satellite communications hardware.
Experts note Iranian tactics evolved from massive barrages to precise, targeted salvos. Analysts warn that with US and partner air defense stocks depleted, any renewed assault would face significantly fewer interceptors.
