Police in New South Wales believe they have found the body of Julian Ingram, the man wanted for the murder of three people in the small town of Lake Cargelligo in January.

Ingram allegedly shot and killed his pregnant ex-partner Sophie Quinn, her friend, and her aunt. A 19-year-old man was also seriously wounded but has since been released from the hospital. Ingram had been on bail for domestic violence charges at the time.

The body was discovered by wildlife officers about 50 kilometers northwest of the crime scene, next to an abandoned utility vehicle. Assistant Commissioner Andrew Holland stated the evidence, including clothing and the vehicle, strongly suggests it is Ingram. He noted the body had been there for some time.

Holland said the discovery brings closure to the investigation and allows the community of Lake Cargelligo, a town of just 1,500 people, to begin to relax.
