A large-scale Russian attack on Kyiv has killed at least seven people and wounded 24, Ukrainian officials reported. The overnight assault involved waves of missiles and drones, causing significant damage to residential buildings.
Kyiv's City Military Administration head, Tymur Tkachenko, confirmed a residential building partially collapsed in the Podilskyi district. Multiple structures in the Darnytsia district were damaged, with people feared trapped.
The attack followed a warning from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He renewed urgent appeals for Western air defense support, specifically Patriot missile systems, stating their absence encourages Russia to prolong the conflict.
This latest strike occurred just one day before a NATO summit was scheduled to begin in Turkey, underscoring the persistent threat to Ukrainian sovereignty.
