KYIV - Russian strikes killed one person and wounded 13 others in Ukraine's capital on Sunday. The bombardment came one day after Kyiv launched a deadly wave of drones that struck e-commerce warehouses in the Moscow and Tambov regions in Russia, killing eight people.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported a fire at a supermarket and an apartment building hit in the Solomianskyi district. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated the Russian warehouses were used to supply sanctioned components for drone production.
Kyiv's campaign of "long-range sanctions" has targeted Russian oil infrastructure, causing a fuel crisis. In response, Russia intercepted nearly 2,000 drones aimed at Moscow in one week.

Simultaneously, thousands protested across Ukraine for a third day against Zelenskyy's dismissal of popular Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov. The tech-savvy minister was ousted in a surprise reshuffle, triggering rare public backlash and speculation about further changes to military command.
