Sarnia, Ont., police have announced multiple arrests in connection with a fatal triple shooting at Lambton College last week. The search for the main suspect, however, is ongoing.
The incident resulted in the death of 20-year-old Dane Nisbet and injuries to two others. Police were called to a bar on campus early Friday morning, responding to reports of a shooting. Three individuals were found with life-threatening and non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators identified two men as being involved: a shooter and an accomplice. Over the weekend, police executed search warrants in London, Ont., recovering a vehicle used in the shooting and arresting a second suspect.
Oudom Bun, 23, has been charged with second-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.
Kyaw Doe, 24, is considered the prime suspect and is wanted for second-degree murder, two counts of attempted murder, and illegal firearm possession. He was subject to a court order prohibiting him from possessing firearms at the time of the shooting.
Police believe Doe has ties to criminal elements in Ontario and may be receiving assistance. He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
Searches at a Sarnia home and a Point Edward hotel unit led to further arrests, including two 19-year-olds, Ava-Leigh Lightheart and Johnathan Osborne-Walsh, who face charges including accessory after the fact to murder. The suspected weapon used in the shooting was also recovered.
Lambton College, which had closed following the incident, announced a phased return to campus starting Monday, offering support services to students and staff.
