Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda and Prime Minister Inga Ruginiene were forced into emergency shelters Tuesday after a drone alert sent Vilnius into lockdown.

Flights were suspended, and road and rail traffic briefly halted. The alert has since been lifted. The drone's origin and affiliation remain unconfirmed.

The incident follows Estonia's report that NATO shot down a suspected Ukrainian drone over its territory. Baltic states have seen repeated drone incursions amid heightened tensions with Russia. Lithuania's defense ministry urged residents to take shelter immediately. NATO jets were deployed but could not locate the target.

Ukraine has accused Moscow of redirecting its drones, while Russia claims the Baltics allow Ukraine to use their airspace for strikes-a charge denied by Tallinn, Riga, and Vilnius.
