A Palestinian aid worker who organized public screenings of World Cup matches across the Gaza Strip was killed in an Israeli missile strike Tuesday evening, according to a local hospital director.
Mohamed Al-Wahidi, the public relations director of the Egyptian Relief Committee in Gaza, was killed when a strike hit a vehicle in Gaza City around dusk. The attack also killed the driver and two children, aged 10 and 8.
The Israel Defense Forces stated it struck a terrorist from Hamas' military wing and that the incident is under review, expressing regret for any harm to civilians.
Al-Wahidi had organized viewings that drew Palestinians to watch matches among the rubble of the war-torn territory. The scheduled screening of the Egypt-Argentina game proceeded as planned following his death.

His death occurred amid a fragile ceasefire, with local health officials reporting over 1,000 people killed in ongoing Israeli attacks since a truce was agreed to in October.
