Two people have been charged with first-degree murder in the death of 45-year-old Burnaby man Masood Masjoody.

The RCMP’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says 48-year-old Mehdi Ahmadzadeh Razavi of Maple Ridge and 45-year-old Arezou Soltani of North Vancouver were arrested Friday. Masjoody was reported missing February 2 after neighbors raised concerns.

His remains were found March 6 in Mission, B.C., following an extensive search. Investigators describe the killing as targeted. The victim and accused knew each other and had ongoing civil disputes and public social media exchanges.

Neither suspect has a prior criminal record in Canada. Both remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in court Monday. The BC Prosecution Service approved one count of first-degree murder against each.
