Mehdi Ahmadzadeh Razavi, 48, of Maple Ridge, and Arezou Soltani, 45, of North Vancouver, face first-degree murder charges.

Masjoody was last seen in February. His remains were discovered in Mission, B.C., on March 6. Homicide investigators describe the killing as targeted. Police say he had ongoing disputes with the accused.

Court records show Masjoody filed multiple lawsuits in recent years, naming among others the suspects and Reza Pahlavi, son of the late Shah of Iran, alleging defamation and harassment. He was declared a vexatious litigant by the B.C. Court of Appeal in 2025.
