Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is backing a new International Olympic Committee policy banning transgender women from competing in women’s sports at the upcoming Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.

The move aligns with a U.S. executive order under President Donald Trump and includes mandatory genetic testing for athlete eligibility.

Poilievre shared a social media post by author J.K. Rowling, who called the decision a 'welcome return to fair sport for women and girls.'

Rowling referenced Algerian boxer Imane Khelif, who won gold in Paris 2024 amid controversy over gender misconceptions, misidentifying her as a man.

Poilievre endorsed her message with the comment: 'What she said.'
