The Princess of Wales wished the Irish Guards a happy St Patrick's Day as she presented them with shamrocks and met the regiment's mascot, an Irish wolf hound named Turlough Mor, known as Seamus. She wore a green coat and attended the annual parade at Mons Barracks in Aldershot, Hampshire. After the event, she awarded medals to three soldiers. During a visit to the officers' mess, she spoke with Lance Sergeant Mills, his wife Jessica, and their daughter Vienna, who was excited to meet her. The princess also greeted families and shared moments with soldiers and their loved ones.
