Nineteen-year-old Tristan Primeau-Pointras of Sainte-Julienne, Quebec, was shot and killed during a robbery on the Puerto Plata-Maimon highway in the Dominican Republic.

Police confirmed two suspects-Jordi Yúnior Severiano, 23, and Rangel Merete Rodríguez, 30-were arrested after being identified by Primeau-Pointras’s brother in a lineup. The pair allegedly intercepted the brothers on a motorcycle during a targeted robbery.

One suspect fired the fatal shot. Primeau-Pointras, a guest at the Riu Bachata hotel, died at the scene.

Authorities seized a small blue bag containing over 90 portions of suspected marijuana and $905 in Dominican pesos.

The community of Sainte-Julienne expressed deep sorrow, offering condolences to the family and affirming collective grief.

Investigations continue under the Dominican National Police.
