Two people were killed in a Russian drone strike on a residential home in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, local officials confirmed. Two children, aged 11 and 15, were injured.

The attack occurred Saturday, one day before Ukrainian and American negotiators meet in the US for new peace talks. Discussions will focus on restarting trilateral negotiations with Russia, addressing Zelensky-Trump tensions, and potential US sanctions relief on Russian oil.

Ukraine has expressed concern over the Trump administration’s decision to ease sanctions on Russian oil, a move seen as weakening Western pressure on Moscow. Kyiv also warned that prolonged Middle East conflict diverts critical US military resources.

Zaporizhzhia, a partially occupied region annexed by Russia in 2022, has faced repeated attacks since the war began.
