Russia launched a massive overnight aerial assault, deploying over 700 drones and missiles across Ukraine. The attack, described as the deadliest in months, resulted in at least 18 fatalities.

Cities hit included Odesa, where nine people died, Dnipro with five casualties, and Kyiv, which reported four deaths, including a child. In Kyiv, a residential building partially collapsed, trapping survivors.

Ukraine's air force reported intercepting a significant portion of the incoming ordnance but confirmed direct hits in 26 locations. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attacks, urging allies to maintain and strengthen sanctions against Russia.

Meanwhile, Russia reported two fatalities, including a child, in a Ukrainian drone attack in its southern Krasnodar region. The conflict, now in its fifth year, continues with no immediate signs of de-escalation.
