French rapper Naps has been sentenced to seven years in prison for the rape of a woman in a Paris hotel room in October 2021. The Paris criminal court convicted the 40-year-old artist, whose real name is Nabil Boukhobza, citing an "absence of consent."
Judges stated the complainant consistently maintained she was asleep, waking to the pain of vaginal penetration. DNA evidence matching Boukhobza was found on her clothing. The rapper, known for his 2021 hit "La kiffance," had denied the allegations, claiming the encounter was consensual.
Boukhobza's legal team announced plans to appeal the decision.
