This marks the first known instance of Russian intelligence assistance to Iran. The disclosure comes as the U.S. and Israel continue strikes against Iranian military capabilities.

Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Russia is engaged in "dialogue" with Iranian leadership. These developments follow statements by Iran's Foreign Minister that Russia and China are providing political and other forms of support.
