Russia conducted an extensive aerial attack across Ukraine, deploying hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles over several hours. The barrage, which spanned daytime into night, targeted civilian areas and resulted in at least 16 deaths and over 80 injuries.

Kyiv reported four fatalities, including a child, and more than 50 injured. The attacks damaged numerous residential buildings, businesses, and infrastructure. Other regions, including Odesa, Dnipro, and Zaporizhzhia, also sustained casualties and damage.

Ukrainian officials stated that air defense systems intercepted a majority of the incoming threats, but 20 strike drones and 12 missiles successfully hit their targets. In a separate incident, Ukrainian strikes reportedly killed two people in Russia's Krasnodar region.

The intensified attacks underscore Ukraine's urgent need for enhanced air defense systems, a priority President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been actively pursuing through diplomatic efforts with allies.
