Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Russia is preparing a large-scale attack on the country, based on intelligence data.

Speaking in his nightly video address Friday, Zelenskyy stated: "We have intelligence information about Russia preparing a new large-scale strike." He added that Ukraine's Air Force and other defenders "will work 24/7, as they always do."

This follows Russia's announcement Monday that it intends to launch "systematic strikes" on targets in Kyiv, warning foreigners and diplomats to leave. Moscow claims the action is retaliation for a drone strike on a dormitory in Ukraine's Russian-held Luhansk region last week that killed 21 people. Ukraine denies involvement.

Recent Russian strikes on Kyiv and other areas last Sunday killed two people and injured dozens.

Zelenskyy called for further sanctions on Russia and stressed that agreements with partners on air defense must not be delayed.
