Russian missile strikes killed at least nine people across Ukraine on Saturday, including two children. A direct hit on an apartment block in Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, killed seven and injured ten. Another person died in Dnipropetrovsk, and three were wounded in Kyiv. A 24-year-old man was killed in the Sumy region when his car was hit by a Russian drone.

President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attacks, reporting that Russia used 29 missiles and 480 drones overnight, targeting energy facilities in Kyiv and central Ukraine. Ukrainian air defense systems reportedly intercepted most of the projectiles. Damage to infrastructure was reported in Kyiv and Odessa regions. Ukrainian state railway operator announced route changes due to damage to railway infrastructure.

Zelensky urged international partners to respond to the "cruel blows to life" and reiterated the need for continued support to protect Ukraine's people. He also mentioned providing equipment and specialists to support defense against Iranian drones in the Middle East, following a request from the US. The ongoing war in the Middle East has reportedly diverted international attention from the conflict in Ukraine.
