Russia has ordered foreign citizens and diplomats to leave Kyiv, warning of more strikes on the Ukrainian capital and its 'decision-making centers.' The evacuation alert comes a day after a massive wave of missile and drone attacks - one of the largest since 2022 - killed two people and wounded more than 90.

Russia's foreign ministry said it will launch systematic strikes against Ukrainian military-industrial facilities in Kyiv, targeting both decision-making centers and command posts.

President Vladimir Putin claims the attack was retaliation for a Ukrainian assault on a vocational school in Russian-occupied Luhansk that killed 21 people.

Earlier this month, Russia issued a similar call for foreigners and diplomats to leave Kyiv when it threatened massive strikes on the capital over a potential disruption of a military parade in Moscow.

On Monday, Kyiv authorities and residents worked to clear rubble from Sunday's attack. Over 70 ambassadors, led by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, visited the strike sites, including homes, residential buildings, and a market. Vendors described losing decades of work in an hour.

Ukraine’s Communities and Territories Minister Oleksii Kauleb said the state-run Diia app received nearly 1,000 compensation claims for destroyed housing in the past 24 hours, highlighting the scale of destruction.

Russia has launched near-daily strikes on Ukraine since its full-scale invasion began in February 2022.
