Russian drone strikes killed at least two people in Zaporizhzhia and cut power to most of the northern Chernihiv region, Ukrainian officials confirmed.
Zaporizhzhia regional head Ivan Fedorov reported a man and woman died when a private home was struck Saturday morning. Two children were injured.

In Chernihiv, which borders Belarus and Russia, Governor Viacheslav Chaus said widespread outages followed a separate drone attack. Repair crews are working to restore electricity.
The attacks coincide with a Ukrainian delegation’s arrival in the US for talks on restarting peace negotiations. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed the need for “clear dates” on a proposed trilateral meeting with US and Russian representatives, warning that eased US sanctions on Russian energy boost Moscow’s war funding.
