SINGAPORE: Political activist Han Hui Hui was reunited with her children on Monday after they were removed from her care on February 15 due to safety concerns involving family conflicts.
The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) and Singapore Police Force (SPF) confirmed the children were placed under protective care at KK Women's and Children's Hospital (KKH) under Section 11(1) of the Children and Young Persons Act 1993, following an alleged altercation between the children and their paternal grandmother.
A safety plan previously assigned the grandmother as a designated safe adult-now deemed unviable. MSF conducted a thorough social investigation and required additional safeguards before return:
- New extended family members to conduct regular check-ins via visits and video calls.
- Professional interventions for Han and her husband to address domestic conflict and child triangulation.
- Ongoing monitoring by schools, after-school programs, and home visitation services.
On March 11, Han livestreamed a session claiming she was denied access unless she deleted posts aligned with government policy-a claim refuted by MSF. Authorities clarified that no such threats were made.
She also falsely claimed MSF withheld information about her children’s condition and removed them without legal basis. These statements triggered a POFMA correction order issued by Minister Masagos Zulkifli to protect public trust.
Police investigations into reports from August 2025 to February 2026 concluded in February 2026, resulting in conditional warnings. Additional allegations from February 2026 remain under active review.
