The Red Sea EDITION has been awarded the title of the best new hotel in the world for 2025 by Forbes Travel Guide. This luxury property is situated in Saudi Arabia, as part of an expansive tourism initiative along the Red Sea coast launched in 2017.
The EDITION, one of three hotels to debut on Shura Island last year, joins other notable openings like Six Senses Southern Dunes and Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve. The shortlist for the award also featured international contenders from Costa Rica, Rome, Kuala Lumpur, and New York.
Part of the Marriott Group, The EDITION brand is celebrated for its contemporary, minimalist aesthetic, with each location tailored to its surroundings. The Red Sea EDITION's 240 rooms draw inspiration from the local landscape, featuring earth tones, coral stone, and natural oak, offering views of the Red Sea or the Shura Links golf course.
A key amenity is the resort's spa, equipped with a recovery dome featuring an infrared sauna, heated loungers, and specialized showers. Guests can also explore the property's dining options, including the Bali-inspired JIWA Beach Club and the American-focused Central.
The Red Sea project plans to feature 50 hotels across 22 islands and six mainland sites by 2030, with additional brands like Fairmont, Four Seasons, Rosewood, and Jumeirah slated to open properties. The new ADRENA adventure and entertainment district is also set to launch this March, offering watersports and land-based activities.
