Australian police are investigating the suspected abduction of a five-year-old girl, Sharon, who disappeared from her family home in Alice Springs. Authorities are seeking Jefferson Lewis, 47, who was staying at the Aboriginal town camp and vanished around the same time as the girl. Lewis has prior domestic and family violence-related offences.
Sharon was last seen on Saturday night. A large-scale search involving police, volunteers, the dog squad, drones, and a helicopter is underway in the surrounding bush and desert. Police urge anyone with information to come forward.
