UN peacekeepers were fired upon three times in southern Lebanon on Sunday, likely by non-state armed groups, according to UNIFIL. The attacks come amid intensified Israeli strikes that have killed at least 850 people and displaced over 830,000, including 130,000 in shelters.

Israel has ruled out direct talks with Lebanon, rejecting a proposal from Lebanese President Joseph Aoun. Meanwhile, Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen demanded cancellation of the 2022 U.S.-brokered maritime border deal, citing unmet security promises.

Hezbollah claimed missile attacks on Israel’s Palmachim air base and launched strikes on Israeli troops in southern Lebanon. The Israeli military reported destroying Hezbollah command centers in Beirut and targeting launch sites near Al-Qatrani, where three were killed in an overnight strike.

Rain and cold worsened conditions for displaced families sleeping in tents near Beirut’s seafront. Coffee shop owner Nader, displaced from southern Beirut, said he rebuilt after the 2024 conflict only to face destruction again.
