The United States has conducted new military strikes inside Iran, a direct response to a drone attack on a Panama-flagged vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.
US Central Command confirmed it struck military equipment, communication systems, air defense sites, and drone storage facilities. The action followed an Iranian one-way attack drone that hit the tanker MT Kiku.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps immediately responded, launching missiles and drones at US infrastructure in Kuwait and Bahrain. Both nations activated their air defense systems and urged citizens to seek shelter.
In a post on Truth Social, the US President warned Tehran "may never learn" and stated there may come a point where the US is "forced to militarily complete the job."
The escalation occurs just one day after US strikes retaliated for an attack on a Singapore-flagged cargo ship. Both sides accuse the other of violating a June 17th ceasefire agreement.
The critical Strait of Hormuz remains a focal point. While commercial traffic continues, Iran insists its administration of the waterway will not return to its pre-war state, despite US claims that tolls were waived.
