The Vatican has announced it will not participate in President Donald Trump's newly formed Board of Peace, a post-war initiative for the Gaza Strip. Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin stated the Holy See's decision is due to the board's "particular nature" and its role distinct from sovereign states.

Parolin noted "critical points" requiring explanation and stressed that, at the international level, the United Nations should primarily manage such crisis situations. The Board of Peace, chartered in January, aims to manage recovery efforts and has secured pledges of over $5 billion in aid for Gaza from participating countries.

Leaders from nearly 20 countries, including Israel, participated in the initial charter signing. However, Poland and Italy have also recently declined invitations.
