Vaughn Solomon Schofield, Saskatchewan's 21st lieutenant-governor, has died at the age of 82. She passed away following a short illness.

Serving as the Crown's representative from 2012 to 2018, Solomon Schofield was noted for her dedication to Saskatchewan residents and the Canadian Armed Forces.

Premier Scott Moe remembered her as a "wonderful embodiment of the Saskatchewan spirit." Governor General Mary Simon highlighted her significant impact through her military service, public service, and philanthropy, calling her a "cherished leader."

Solomon Schofield, who also had a background in business real estate, leaves behind two children and five grandchildren.
