The White House Correspondents' Dinner, suspended in April after a gunman attempted to breach the venue and exchanged fire with Secret Service agents, has been rescheduled for July 24.

President Donald Trump confirmed he will attend the new event, to be held at the Waldorf Astoria in Washington D.C., calling it a "sign of Strength and Fortitude." The WHCA is covering ticket costs for members who already purchased for April and is offering travel support for scholarship winners. One Secret Service agent was injured in the exchange. The suspect, 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen, was subdued at the scene.
