Kobbie Mainoo stuns fans as Man United star makes surprise appearance

Manchester United and England star Kobbie Mainoo stunned England fans as he appeared at a Topps event in collaboration with Match Attax.

In a Manchester-based newsagent, football content creator Billy Wingrove acted as shopkeeper for three young fans who were invited to collect a prize after winning a card collecting competition.

As fans entered the shop, they discussed their card collections and support for United, listing their favourite players with Mainoo frequently mentioned.

As Wingrove pretended to fetch the award, Mainoo emerged from the store room, much to the surprise of the fans, who had also been promised 100 packs of cards.

Mainoo, who pulled out of the current England squad due to injury, then handed out signed cards of himself, with the fans left almost speechless as they met one of their heroes.

'Meeting these young fans was an unbelievable moment, seeing their faces light up as we surprised them was really special,' Mainoo said. 'Growing up, I loved collecting Match Attax cards and trading with my friends at school, so being part of this alongside Billy was something really special.

'Seeing their raw passion for football and the excitement these cards bring reminds me of why I love the game.'

The likes of Mainoo, Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane all feature in the Match Attax UCC 2024/25 collection, which includes players and teams from this season's UEFA competitions.

A number of genuine autograph cards, similar to that which Mainoo handed out, can be collected in the Match Attax series.
