Neal Maupay has brutally trolled Everton on social media after reports had emerged that the Frenchman was closing in on a deal to join Marseille.
On Thursday, L'Equipe first revealed that the 28-year-old had agreed to join the Ligue 1 side and had travelled to the French city for a medical.
The outlet adds that the forward is set to join Roberto de Zerbi's side on a loan deal with a mandatory purchase option at an estimated total of £3.37million (€4m). Should the deal be ratified, he will sign a contract to stay at the club until 2028.
Maupay, who joined Everton in 2022, had spent the previous season out on loan with Brentford, before returning to the Merseyside outfit this summer.
But it appears Maupay is thrilled to be leaving Everton with the forward posting a video of Andy Dufresne from the film The Shawshank Redemption online, after Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano had announced his move on X (formerly Twitter).

The clip shows Dufresne celebrating his escape from prison, before ripping off his shirt as he screams in elation in the rain.
Maupay, meanwhile, joined Everton from Brighton in a £15m deal, but the forward would only go on to return one goal in 32 appearances across all competitions for the Blues.
Everton have endured a torrid start to the new Premier League campaign, suffering a 3-0 defeat by Brighton in the opening game of the season and a 4-0 drubbing against Tottenham last weekend in London.
Unsavoury scenes erupted as several Everton players were making their way back up to Liverpool via train following their defeat - with supporters heckling vile abuse at a group of players as they boarded the train at Euston Station.
Maupay was one of the players targeted by the fans, who had shouted: 'F*** off, you f***ing rat. F***ing 80 grand a week? You f***ing w****r.’

'Imagine another job where it’s normalised to get abuse like this.
Speaking last week on Maupay's future and his time at Everton, Toffee's boss Sean Dyche said: 'He's had a real tough run at Everton Football Club," admitted Dyche.
'They know that he knows that, so we'll have to wait and see if something new comes for him or if he can stay here and see what he can give us.'
