Souness reveals he bumped into a World Cup winner in Essex nightclub

Graeme Souness has revealed the touching encounters he had with an England legend in an Essex nightclub as a youngster on the Mail's Everything I Know About Me podcast.

The Scot was a teenage midfielder learning his trade at Spurs and would spend his evening hours out in London and Essex - even with limited cash.

He names two former World Cup winners as formative figures in those times.

One of them was Arsenal star Alan Ball Jr., who he revealed would buy him drinks and look after him on nights out.

The other? A totemic figure of the English game: Bobby Moore.

Souness opens up on the heartwarming tendencies Moore had and how he made him feel included as a lad growing up in an unfamiliar place. 'He was a special man,' reflects Souness.

Graeme Souness has revealed how kind Bobby Moore was to him growing up as a youngster on Everything I Know About Me
