Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva signed Law No. 15.358, which permits the use of confiscated crypto to fund public security initiatives such as police equipment, intelligence operations, and officer training. The law also broadens judicial powers to freeze, block, or seize cryptoassets during investigations. It defines the use of encryption tools to hide criminal activities as an aggravating factor, enhancing penalties. International cooperation for asset recovery and intelligence sharing is enabled under the new legislation.
