EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Erling Haaland delivered a stunning performance, scoring two late goals as Norway defeated five-time champion Brazil 2-1 to reach the World Cup quarter-finals.

The decisive moments came in the 79th and 90th minutes. Haaland first headed in a cross from Andreas Schjelderup. He then fired a low shot after Schjelderup won possession.

Haaland now has seven goals in the tournament, tying him with Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé.

Brazil's Neymar converted a penalty deep in added time, but it was too late to salvage a result. Earlier, Bruno Guimarães missed a penalty for Brazil in the 13th minute after a VAR review.
