Barclays equity strategist Venu Krishna says the S&P 500 is trading at an attractive entry point, predicting a 16% upside by year-end.
In a CNBC interview, Krishna stated that the S&P 500 currently trades below a 20x P/E ratio, making it an ideal time for long-term investors to enter.
He believes geopolitical tensions in the Middle East will not hinder market performance long-term. "Most geopolitical risks over the last decade have been contained and normalized quickly," he said.
Krishna forecasts the S&P 500 reaching 7,650 by December 2026, assuming stable oil prices between $85 and $100. The US economy, as a net energy exporter, remains resilient despite global challenges.
If the Middle East crisis worsens, the S&P 500 could fall to 5,900. Currently, the index sits at 6,575.
