Cathay Pacific Airways will increase fuel surcharges on all routes beginning March 18. The Hong Kong-based carrier cited a near doubling of jet fuel prices amid ongoing geopolitical conflicts. The adjustment follows the airline's established mechanism for tracking refined jet fuel costs.

Short-haul flights will see surcharges rise to HK$290 (US$37) from HK$142. Medium-haul flights will increase to HK$541 from HK$264. Long-haul flights will more than double, from HK$569 to HK$1,164.

Cathay Pacific reviews fuel surcharges monthly, aligning them with fluctuating fuel prices. Other airlines, including Hong Kong Airlines, Qantas Airways, Air New Zealand, Thai Airways, and Vietnam Airlines, are also implementing similar measures to offset increased operational expenses.
