A British Columbia man, Jan Przeranski, is one of the rare individuals who suffered a severe reaction to the COVID-19 vaccine. He now lives with lymphedema, a chronic condition causing swelling and infections in his arm. Doctors have warned it may eventually require amputation.
Przeranski applied for compensation through the federal government’s vaccine injury program, originally administered by Oxaro. After issues with the firm, Ottawa took over in March. Despite this, Przeranski says he has received virtually no financial support, leaving him in financial ruin.
He is asking the Public Health Agency of Canada for a clear timeline on receiving the maximum $284,000 he qualifies for, plus backdated expenses. Global News received no response from the agency by deadline.
