The Alberta government is warning that anyone who visited a southwest Calgary medical clinic on May 11 may have been exposed to measles.

The potential exposure occurred at the Rockyview Westhills Medical Clinic on Stewart Green SW, between 10:06 a.m. and 12:31 p.m. on May 11.

Officials say individuals born in 1970 or later who have fewer than two documented doses of the measles vaccine, or who have never had the disease, may be at risk.

Those at risk should monitor for symptoms including fever of 38.3°C or higher, cough, runny nose, red eyes, and a characteristic rash that appears three to seven days after fever onset. The rash begins behind the ears and on the face, spreading downward.

If symptoms develop, individuals are advised to stay home and call the measles hotline at 1-844-944-3434 before visiting any healthcare facility.

Alberta Health reports 316 measles cases in 2026, including 10 in the Calgary zone. Only one case, in Calgary, remains active as of June 3.
