A man in his 20s presented at an Edinburgh eye clinic after six days of seeing dark floaters and brief light flashes in his right eye.
He was otherwise healthy with no history of eye disease, trauma, or drug use. The only notable condition was mild nearsightedness, managed with glasses.
Doctors determined the symptoms stemmed from improper use of a personal massage gun, which tore holes in his retinas.
