Eli Lilly has extended its partnership with Insilico Medicine in a deal valued up to $2.75 billion. The collaboration focuses on AI-powered drug discovery.
Lilly will use Insilico’s AI platform and gain exclusive rights to develop, manufacture, and commercialize certain oral treatments in preclinical stages.
Insilico will receive an initial $115 million payment, with additional milestone payments possible, plus tiered royalties on future sales.
Alex Zhavoronkov, Insilico’s CEO, emphasized how AI enables identification of multi-purpose disease targets.
The partnership builds on earlier agreements from 2023 and November 2023.
